I can't believe how fast these six weeks have gone. My baby is 6 weeks old! Time is truly flying by and Taylor has changed so much. He's growing like a weed! His little cheeks are so fun to smooch and his legs are getting roly poly. He's an armful to carry around! It's so different for me because Lily was such a peanut for so long and Taylor is growing so fast! He's smiling more often which is SO FUN! I feel like we're communicating and I just love it. Occasionally he tries to talk too and it melts my heart. He is still such a grunter! It happens most often when he needs to burp or is working on a poop. But even if one of those things isn't happening he loves to grunt. And just in the last day or two he's started to snort! When he breathes really fast and sometimes when he cries he snorts and it's so cute. He's really strong and is holding his head up very well. I feel like he could roll over at any time. He pulls his legs up and rolls onto his side. He's done it both directions and I was amazed.
Lily is still such a good big sister! She loves to kiss his cheek and then his forehead - in that order - and it's the sweetest thing. She is loving a couple Leap Frog videos right now and can name all the letters of the alphabet and their sound. She can spell her name and Taylor's name. She can spy an L or a T anywhere and points out, "That's an L for Lily" or "That's a T for Taylor." Lily has her mother's sweet tooth! Whenever she wants a snack she tries for something sweet. Her favorites right now are chocolate chips or marshmallows! Can you believe that? It's terrible! One thing that has stayed the same in her short life is her love of swings! When we go to the park her favorite thing to do is swing. She'd do that the entire time if we didn't encourage her to go down the slides or climb on the other playground equipment. The day we came home from the hospital Andy gave her a little Grumpy Bear. Grumpy is her favorite of the Care Bears! She has carried him around EVERYWHERE for six straight weeks and Grumpy is looking very well loved.
I am such a fan of Gripe Water. I'm only giving it to him about once a day (you can give it up to six times in 24 hours) but it seems to make such a difference when his tummy seems to be bothering him.
The potty training is ongoing. She is still holding it as long as she possibly can which is so frustrating! We don't know how to get her to go when we can tell that she needs to go! We've tried lots of different rewards. Yesterday I started a sticker chart for her. It's hanging in the bathroom and she gets a sticker any time she goes. When the chart is full we get to go to DQ and get a Dilly Bar. I'll let you know if it's effective. So far she seems to be excited about choosing a sticker and putting it on the chart. We'll see...
Andy's softball season officially ended last night. Team Carquest is the playoff champions! Wah-hoo. I'm excited for Andy and also excited to have my husband home on Monday nights!!! :)
Here are some snapshots of the last week. Enjoy!
