8 weeks

It's been a busy week! Here are a few highlights:
  • Lily and her friend Brianna started dance class! Brianna loved it but Lily didn't know what to think. She stood there most of the time and eventually came and sat by me. She's been a slow "warmer upper" to lost of things - new foods, people, etc. So we'll give her a couple weeks and see how it goes.
  • We bought a new sofa, chair and entertainment center for the basement. Andy painted over our burgandy walls with "Classic Taupe" on Friday and Saturday and it looks great! It looks brighter down there and really freshened it up. I'll post pics later. My parents also visited on Friday and my dad helped Andy start the painting that evening! Thanks, Dad!
  • The Young Couples Ministry of our church kicked off on Saturday night! We're excited for small group to begin again.
  • Sunday School started this week and Andy will be leading group discussions on spiritual disciplines as part of the adult Sunday School class this year. He's nervous but I know he'll be great.
  • The Vikings season opener was Monday night. We were all in our Vikingswear (see pic below) and pumped for the game. They lost to the Packers 24-19. Bummer.
  • Our next door neighbors went in to the hospital last night to be induced. We're assuming they had their baby today. I've been thinking about them a lot today and praying for them. Can't wait to find out...
  • MOMS Leadership Team had our beginning of the year brunch today. It was nice to see everyone again. The team is made up of lots of Christian moms from various churches in the St. Cloud area so I haven't seen most of them all summer. It was fun to introduce Taylor to the group. We have a planning meeting next Tuesday and then MOMS officially begins on the 23rd. I'm excited!
  • Lily pooped on the potty today!!! Woot woot! This is a very big deal because #2 has been a struggle. Please keep praying for her. She's making such progress and it gets more comfortable for her with each passing day. She is a wonderful big sister. She loves to get right in Taylor's face and talk to him. I think she wishes he'd talk back. :) Tonight I was on the computer downstairs and she came to say goodnight to me before Andy put her to bed. She hugged me and said, "Goodnight mommy. Have fun doing email and pictures." :) It was so funny. She's so cute.
  • Taylor is 8 weeks old today. What a kid! He is just awesome. He's such a sweet baby. It's so fun to try to make him smile. And sometimes he just smiles when he sees me! He's talking more and has the cutest voice - it's sort of low and raspy - he's a total boy. He has gorgeous blue eyes and still has most of that hair. Lily was dark too when she was born so I am very curious what his hair will do. He's eating well (as you can tell by his cheeks) and I can't wait to find out what he weighs. We go in for his 2 month well child exam next Tuesday. You can pray for both he and I. I am so nervous for his shots. I absolutely hate watching my kids get shots and I feel like they get too many at once. I believe he'll get 4 shots next week. That's a lot of stuff to put into such a little body. Anyway, he's doing well and the time is going so fast.

Our littlest Vikings fan!

4 on a couch!
A sneak peak at the new furniture and paint color. :)

Taylor on his 8 week birthday
Do you love the ginormous bib? He's a spitter and a drooler so he wears a bib often. :)

They look so different yet they're totally siblings
My heart is so full of love for these two little sweet peas and so full of gratitude to God for giving them to me and Andy

Hey Dawn! I think Taylor's hair looks like it is getting lighter - maybe even a reddish tint? Or its just my monitor! But so cute that he still has so much hair. He sure is cute. Lily too. Although I'm sure you know how I feel about all the purple jerseys, you guys sure are a good looking family! I didn't find that game to be a bummer... :)
Have a good week. I love your Tuesday updates!
