2 months!

Taylor is 2 months old! Good grief - the time just keeps flying by. He is getting *so* big and he's so much fun. He's getting more aware of his surroundings and is looking around more. He sees the mobile on his swing now and smiles as he watches it go around. He's so much fun to talk to when he talks back in his very "boy" voice. He really has such a pleasant personality. He is definitely a mama's boy. I don't know how to explain it but he loves his mommy! Sometimes when he's upset he'll smile when he sees me. And we make great eye contact and have great "conversation". He's very personable. He loves to relate to people. At his well child exam today he was cooing and charming Dr. Boelter. She thought he was so cute and kept saying, "He's so pleasant!"

Speaking of his well child exam... Taylor weighed in at 14 pounds 3 ounces! That puts him in the 95th percentile and he's in the 90th percentil for length at 24 inches. He's a healthy, growing boy! He got 5 shots today which was difficult for both of us. He did really well. He screamed when he was poked but calmed down very quickly and then fell asleep when I put him in his carseat. He's been pretty sleepy most of the day. He has a low temp but besides that he's doing about as well as I could hope for and I'm relieved.

At night he's been sleeping about 4 hours at a time but Saturday night he slept for his first 6 hour stretch - from 11 o'clock to 5 o'clock in the morning! I was so excited. And now he's back to the usual 4 hour stretchs but we're making progress. :)

This weekend I took the kids to my parents and it was a lot of fun. It was my first trip down there since Taylor was born and his first big car ride. It actually didn't go that well on the way down there. We stopped at Albertville to try to calm him down. Fortunately my mom was in the car with us so she drove the rest of the way and I sat in the back with Taylor. The rest of the weekend went much better! Lily has an absolute ball at my parents' house. I was able to leave her with my parents and go to the MOA and shop a little. My most exciting purchase was new nursing bras at the Motherhood store. OH MY GOODNESS. What a difference a properly fitting bra makes! :) I got measured and tried the bras on and I can't even explain how excited I am to have new bras. I happily threw the old bras away. Hallelujah. The girls are up where they belong. Anyhoodle, we had a great weekend and the trip home went great. Taylor slept most of the way and Lily is a great traveler. Andy had to work this weekend so he didn't have a chance to miss us very much but we were all happy to see each other on Sunday and enjoyed the evening together as a family. There was some football involved. :)

In baby news, congratulations to my cousin Sarah, her husband Eric, and big brother Brodie on the birth of Logan Jonathan! He was born on the 8th and weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces.

And our neighbors came home with their baby boy last week but we haven't met him yet. I took a little gift over there today but she didn't come to the door (I can't imagine why) so I'll try again another time. :)

So here are some pics from this week. Enjoy!

I took this picture because he was stickin' his lower lip out so cute. :)

Lily at the play doh station at the Children's Book Festival in the cities

My parents and I took the kids to the festival on Saturday. It's a cool free event with lots for kids to do. We weren't able to do much, though, because it started to rain. Bummer. We'll try again next year.

Nursing Taylor in the rain! :)

A happy baby

Getting chubby. I affectionately refer to him as Chubby these days. :)

2 Months
I love the expression on his face here. I feel like he's thinking, "Hello ladies."
