We're planning to put a bathroom, bedroom, family room, and a little computer/scrapbooking cove down there.
The bedroom will be a really nice size with a large walk-in closet. We're thinking that will likely be Lily's room someday. It may be a toy room until then.
There will also be a nice bathroom with the sink and vanity separated from the toilet and shower by a door - there's a word for that and I don't remember what it is. =)
The family room/Andy's domain/man cave will have a fireplace and a place on the wall for his TV. It's the perfect place for all his helmets and memorabilia and he can do whatever he wants with it. He's very excited.
And then there'll be a little "cove" area for our computer and my scrapping stuff. It's not actually a separate room, just a little "area". It's hard to explain, but when it has walls I'll take a picture of it. =)
My husband has never done construction and has no experience finishing a basement. Our friend Keith is "consulting" and checking in on Andy periodically, and will help with a few things that Andy doesn't think he can do himself. Keith is the one that did the crown moulding in our kitchen, built our deck and our fireplace in our other house. He's a handy friend to have!
I'm really proud of Andy. He is feeling really motivated and has just jumped in feet first to this project. He's doing a great job and it's starting to take shape. You can count on occasional photo updates as our basement comes together!

Droid! You are a manly-man! I didn't know you could do such constructions - I must say that I would be lost should I try to achieve a basement of my own labor. Keep swinging that hammer bro!
