She's been influential in my life in everything from cooking and cleaning to how I think about vaccinating my kids and even marriage stuff! She's truly an inspiration because of everything she's been through with 7 month-old Stellan's health and how she's handled it all. She's also a photographer and takes gorgeous pictures! More about that in a second.
The other day she posted a recipe for what she calls Twisted Oatmeal Raisin MckCookies. I made them last night and they are delish. (I did have to use egg-free egg substitute because of T's egg allergy) These cookies suit me for so many reasons.
First of all, I like to bake.
Second, oatmeal cookies make me happy.
Thirdly, I am addicted to raisins.
Fourthly, they contain flaxseed meal! Hello!
And finally, I get excited when a cookie is not entirely unhealthy and has some redeeming nutritional value!

Okay, so back to the photography thing. Are you sitting down? Oh yeah, you probably are if you're at your computer. Well, brace yourself.
I have an appointment with MckMama to photograph my children in July!!! Isn't that neato? I contacted her a few weeks ago and have communicated with her back and forth through email to set up an appointment for July 6th at 10 am. I've been so star struck and felt like I've been communicating with a celebrity! Silly me.
But seriously, she is such an amazing photographer and I am thrilled that she's going to take pictures of my kids. This summer is Lily's 4th birthday (June 14) and Taylor's 1st birthday (July 15) so I thought it might be fun to have their pics taken together to commemorate these special birthdays.
