Adele Rose Cross

II Timothy 4:6-8 ~ "For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day - and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing."

Today at 12:30 my grandma Adele went to be with the Lord. Her funeral will be Saturday morning.

What a blessing to be her granddaughter. She was a remarkable woman. She was a spunky, funny, feisty, loving, praying, godly grandma. She had a lot of personality packed into her small frame. (I did not inherit her petite gene!!!) I have great memories of laughing with her. She and grandpa had a lake cabin where we visited them many summers. I remember playing Uno, Chicken Foot, and Mexican Train. And eating blueberry pancakes (made by my grandpa Curt). And Raisin Nut Bran. I remember her singing hymns while working in the kitchen. I remember her picking up daddy long leg spiders by one leg and talking to them in a sweet voice, reminding them that they belong outside. I remember her enjoying the hummingbirds and chipmunks at the lake. I remember her tender heart and saw her get teary many times. I remember getting birthday cards and letters from her all signed the same way - Love and Prayers, Grandma.

I'm so thankful for her influence in my life. And her love. And for her faithful prayers. I can't imagine all that God has done for me as a direct result of her prayers!

I miss her, but I am SO glad that she is whole and perfect in the presence of Jesus! She isn't suffering any more and she isn't trapped in her broken brain. No more confusion. No more pain! No more tears! She is with her Jesus!

The pictures below were taken during visits to her nursing home in Illinois. I'm *so* glad that Lily and Taylor got to meet her and that she got to see my babies.

Please be praying for my grandpa Curt. He has loved her and cared for her well, particularly during her battle with dimentia the past decade or so.

Christ the Lord Is Risen Today
Lyrics ~ Charles Wesley, 1707-1788

Christ the Lord is ris'n today, Alleluia!
Sons of men and angels say, Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!
Sing, ye heav'ns, and earth reply, Alleluia!

Love's redeeming work is done, Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids Him rise, Alleluia!
Christ has opened Paradise, Alleluia!

Lives again our glorious King, Alleluia!
Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia!
Dying once He all doth save, Alleluia!
Where thy victory, O grave? Alleluia!

Soar we now where Christ has led, Alleluia!
Foll'wing our exalted Head, Alleluia!
Made like Him, like Him we rise, Alleluia!
Ours the cross, the grave, the skies, Alleluia!

Hail the Lord of earth and heaven, Alleluia!
Praise to Thee by both be given, Alleluia!
Thee we greet triumphant now, Alleluia!
Hail the Resurrection, thou, Alleluia!

King of glory, soul of bliss, Alleluia!
Everlasing life is this, Alleluia!
Thee to know, Thy power to prove, Alleluia!
Thus to sing, and thus to love, Alleluia!
