This morning was Lily's preschool parent/teacher conference, so I thought I'd do a little update about her in honor of her glowing conference report!
Her teacher called her a darling and said the following things about my spectacular child:
*She is respectful and obedient
*She works really hard
*She learns new things really quickly
*She has no problem sitting and listening
*She plays nicely
*She LOVES to draw and colors beautiful pictures
*She's doing great academically and knows "everything" she should at this point
*She's a great kid!
If you're a parent I don't have to tell you how pleased I was to hear all that about my baby! I'm just so, so proud of her.
She really is an amazing child. She's a thinker and sometimes it blows my mind to hear what she's thinking about.

Here is a miscellaneous list of current facts about my little girl:
She pays attention to road signs and wants to know what they say and what they mean.
She LOVES to color! She spends literally hours every week sitting at our kitchen table or the little table in her room coloring. For her age we are so impressed with her artwork. She can see something in her mind and get it on paper. She definitely gets her skillz from her dad! Andy is pretty artistic.
She doesn't like very many vegetables. (She also gets this from her dad!) Potatoes and corn are her favorites and they hardly count as veggies! She'll eat baby carrots when she's in the mood. And occasionally broccoli. She hates peas. When I make mac and cheese I usually add mixed veggies to it and this annoys her a ton! =)
She's "choosey" about her fruits too. The ones she consistently eats are apples, bananas, watermelon, and mandarin oranges. She needs a little encouragement to eat blueberries, strawberries, peaches, kiwi, and pineapple. She recently realized that she likes regular oranges. She doesn't like cantaloupe, pears or cherries! On "Red Day" at preschool she ate one raspberry and told me about it proudly. =)
A favorite meal is chicken nuggets and tater tots.
She likes pancakes.
If she could have any cereal she'd probably choose Cap'n C.runch. She had it once at my parents' and it changed her life. =)
She loves to play outside and ride her bike.
She loves to play with friends.
She loves her little brother, even though he can really get on her nerves.
She affectionately refers to our baby as Lulu and it's catching on! Don't be scared - we won't name her Lulu! But for now we call her that and I wouldn't be surprised if it "sticks" as a nickname even after she's born.
She's so excited for her baby sister to be born. She hugs my tummy often and can't wait for Lulu to be here. She thinks it's really cool that the baby can hear us, but wishes we could hear the baby! =)
She had her first dentist appointment this month and got a healthy mouth report. Ever since then she's been happier to brush her teeth and proudly shows off her "sparkly white" teeth.
She loves D.isney and all things princess related. Some days she wants to be a princess when she grows up. Other days she wants to be a mommy. Other days she wants to be a doctor. I can't wait to see what she'll do!
She can't wait to be 5. And I can't believe she's going to be 5.
She wants to play soccer this summer.
She still likes chocolate chips and marshmallows.
Some of her favorite books right now are some that we got through a book order. They're part of a little series on safety and she loves them! The topics include calling 911, wearing a helmet, strangers, etc. And she *loves* the story of Rapunzel!!! She requests this story frequently and even likes to act it out, playing the part of Rapunzel, while Andy or I read it aloud. She uses a blanket as her long braid. So funny!
Speaking of hair, she wants to grow her hair out and likes when I put a little braid in her hair. However, she hates getting her hair combed and it's stressful for both of us. I've always preferred to keep her hair shorter because of her curls. They just have a mind of their own and a way of getting snarly! We'll see...
Some of her favorite movies right now are 101 D.almatians and The P.rincess & The Frog. (The newest princess movie doesn't thrill me. It has some yucky, dark parts that are troubling to me and she doesn't like them either so we try to fast forward those.) She also enjoys M.ax and Ruby, Wow W.ow Wubbzy, C.are Bears, S.trawberry Shortcake, and The W.onder Pets. She watched M.onsters Inc with her daddy the other night and loved it! I wish you could have heard her giggling!
She loves to play with P.olly Pockets and has a small collection of them. But we're always losing those itty, bitty shoes and it drives me crazy!
She loves to take a bath.
She likes to pray for our meals. And she likes to pray for her friends before bed.
She likes to play games on the computer - either from the P.layhouse Disney or N.ick Jr site.
She misses our old house and sometimes says we should move back there.
A friend from preschool went on a vacation to Hawaii and sometimes she suggests that we should move there.
She told me today that she doesn't like motorcycles and that they are for boys.
She still loves to wear "dresses and tights". Although she's looking forward to summer so that she can just wear the dresses without the tights. (It's been pretty nice around here the last couple days and we can taste summer!!!)
Her beverage of choice is ice water. She's never really been a milk drinker and the only juice she likes is orange juice. I am 100% okay with that! And the dentist believes that her healthy teeth can partly be attributed to her beverage habits. =)
She has beautiful blue eyes.
She is getting so tall! Lily has always worn the same size as her age. So when she was 12 months old she was wearing 12 month clothes. And when she was 3 she was wearing 3T. It looks like she's pretty much going to skip 5T. I think this summer she's going to need to wear size 6! Of course it depends on the brand, but she has grown so much this year!
She wants to try roller skating.
Those are the things that come to mind right now! She's just such a blessing. She definitely keeps us on our toes, but we are so fortunate to be her parents!!! She's amazing!
