Time goes by

I've told you about this phase and we are right in the thick of it. This darling boy is having a heck of a time falling asleep for naps and bedtime now that he knows how to sit up in his crib! Argh! It is Suuuuuuuper frustrating. But it helps that I remember going through this with Lily and I know that it won't last forever.

In the mean time he's up several times (again!) in the night because he doesn't just lay there and fall back to sleep. He needs help laying back down and sometimes gets pretty mad when I lay him down. Last night he woke up around 11:30 and was so worked up that he didn't go back to sleep until after 1 o'clock in the morning!

And my darling hubby, bless his heart, got up too and spent some time cuddling Taylor and trying to settle him down. These are the moments when I am exceedingly thankful not to be a single parent. I have so much respect for single moms and don't know how they do it!

Anywho, you can pray that this phase runs its course quickly and that Taylor gets back into a nice routine of sleeping well both at night and for his naps!!!

Besides that he's doing really well. Eliminating eggs from my diet has helped his skin immensely. He's had a terrible spot of eczema on his shoulder that is looking so much better, his back has cleared up and his face is looking wonderful. I'm so glad! It's definitely an adjustment for me to have to read labels so closely but it's good practice for when Taylor is old enough to eat "people" food himself.

He started clapping on Sunday and he's been doing it a lot today. It Is So Cute!!! His adorable, chubby little hands (which I LOVE) make the sweetest little clapping sound. It's absolutely precious.

He's doing great with baby food and cereal. He's tried some new ones this month including mangos, apricots and squash. He tolerates the veggies and really likes fruits. He has also started to like the Gerber puffs recently. And I like that because he can feed them to himself and they keep him busy while we're trying to eat! =)

Lily is doing great. She is just growing up so fast and I can hardly stand it! We're planning to enroll her in preschool in the fall and we're gonna make some decisions about that this week. Scary. And surreal. I know that she's ready for it and will love it.

She's in a major want-to-be-with-friends phase. Almost every day she asks to have a friend over, or if we can go to someone's house or if someone can play with her. She loves to play and loves her friends.

Today after MOMS we had lunch with a group of gals and their kids at my co-leader's house. Lily did not want to leave. And I wasn't surprised. And she asked if she could come back tomorrow. And this happens pretty much every time she has a friend here or plays with friends somewhere else. She just loves it.

Swimming lessons are going superbly. In just a few weeks I can tell that she is so much more comfortable in the water. It's a lot of fun and I'm glad she's enjoying it. Last week she didn't want to leave. This is starting to be a theme with her! =)

Here a few pics from the past week!

Getting so big. How cute is he standing there??? And he's got his cool cargo pants and polo shirt on.

Love this baby!

Isn't he sweet?!

Beautiful blue eyes and chubby little fingers

We went to Lauren's 5th birthday party on Saturday
The theme was Disney Princesses - right up Lily's alley! Here she's clapping for Lauren for blowing out the candles. Check out that cake!!!

In her glory with cake and cotton candy ice cream!

Lauren and Lily's little brothers
